The book is called The
Hunger Games. The author of the book is Suzanne Collins. I personally
love this novel. Five, no three pages into the book and I was hooked. I
read it about 6 times. I also love this book because it is filled with
violence and drama. So let me tell you more about the book.
The nation of Panem, a shining
capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The capitol is harsh and cruel
and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and
one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger
Games, a fight to the death on live TV.
My favorite part of the book was when
Katniss and Peeta needed to kill each other even though they are on the same
team, because there could be only one winner so they almost committed
suicide, so the Gamemakers let them live.
The movie version is a bit different
than the novel because it doesn't have many things the novel has, for example,
in the book Katniss had to go to a feast but in the movie they didn't show
it. This is the first book to The Hunger Games trilogy and all of the
books were amazing but this book is the one that really gets my attention.
Katniss Everdeen reminds me of myself
because like Katniss I have many talents but I am shy to show anyone,
unless it is mandatory.
I rated this novel a solid 5 out of
5. It may sound like I am exaggerating, but I am not. The story is a violent,
jarring, speed rap of a novel, that has constant suspense. I rated this novel a
solid 5 because it was brilliantly plotted and perfectly paced.
