Switched At Birthday by Natalie Standiford

Have you ever woken up one morning only to find yourself in a totally different house, with different parents, siblings, and friends ? Probably not. Well, it did happen to two very different girls on the night of their thirteenth birthday.
The storyline of “ Switched At Birthday ” flowed by very smoothly and I enjoyed reading this book very much. This story all starts on the day of Lavender Schmitz’s and Scarlet Martinez’s  thirteenth birthday. They are born on the same day but that is the only thing that they have in common. No two people can be more different than Scarlet and Lavender. Lavender is considered the “Short, Hairy Loser” of the school, and her nickname “Lav” means bathroom in the U.K. Scarlet, on the other side, is one of the most popular kids at the school and her name is a jewel, literally, a jewel. The problem is, Lavender wakes up in Scarlet’s body, in Scarlet’s house, with Scarlet’s parents, siblings, and friends, and with Scarlet’s popularity. Scarlet wakes up in Lavender’s body, in Lavender’s house, with Lavender’s parents, friends, and siblings, let’s not forget, her VIP pass to being bullied and called names. Scarlet and Lavender work together to try to switch back to their normal selves. Problem is they have to do it without acting too suspicious.
This story is very unique. I personally have never switched lives with anyone but I think it would be a great experience to switch lives with someone whose life is totally different from mine. If I were in their situation, I would have done exactly what they did. My favorite part of the book was when Lavender woke up as Scarlet, and Scarlet woke up as Lavender. This is because I didn’t have a single clue of what was going to happen next and I thought that part of the book had the most suspense.
I would rate this book 5 stars out of 5. What made this story so enjoyable was the fact that it was very well written and flowed from event-to-event very smoothly. I also liked this book because
