BOOK REVIEW:
Skulduggery Pleasant Death Bringer
By Derek Landy
Do you like a story with magic, violence, fights,
living skeletons and a vampire who is madly in love with a girl but the girl
does not know how to love as in boyfriend and girlfriend even though she
already has a boyfriend which means she's cheating on him. Well then this book
is for you. This is the 6th book in its series. I love these genres therefore
love the book.
This series is about a girl and skeleton who
are sorcerers/detectives who live in a world where magic exists but most don't
notice it. Valkyrie Cane and Skulduggery Pleasant. They work under the
Elders command. In this book all of the Necromancers think Valkyrie is the
death bringer so when they find out its Melancholia is the death bringer it
brought them all to shock. The death bringer is supposed to open a passage
but only the higher ranks of the Necromancers know what it is. This
doesn't bother the elder until Melancholia attacks .Valkyrie Skulduggery gets
angry and so he waits for Valkyrie to get better and then issues an arrest
warrant for Melancholia but when the Necromancers refuse to hand her over the
elders wage war on the Necromancers and while all this is happening Lord Vile
is on the lose and the elders are still searching for Darquesse
Valkyrie dark self. The detectives have only 7 days to stop the
Necromancers, will Lord Vile be found? Is anyone one watching from the
sidelines and wants to expose magic to the world? What will happen to the
detectives?
Read to find out
My favourite part of the book is when Lord Vile and
Darquesse fight and unfortunately there is not a movie for any of the books
although there should be one.
In the series on the book there is…
Skulduggery Pleasant
Sceptre of the Ancients
Playing with Fire
The Faceless Ones
Dark Days
Mortal Coil
Death Bringer
Kingdom of the Wicked
Last Stand of a Dead Man
I have read all the books up to Death Bringer. None
of the characters remind me of myself but I did take a liking to Skulduggery
because he's smart, funny, and he thinks he's perfect and always shows off,
plus he cares a lot for his friends so if you hurt one of them you are
practically dead. I would rate this book 10 out of 5 stars because once you
start you can't stop I read this book for 4 hours straight! I absolutely adore
this book and the rest in its series. They all have humour, magic, mystery, and
just a teeny tiny bit of romance…just the way I love it.
